PMDs and Clear Water Continue on the Beaverhead

Clear water and a steady PMD hatch have the Beaverhead fishing well.  Releases of about 550 cfs from Clark Canyon Reservoir have been stable for a few days and the fishing has been good.  Cloudy days have also contributed to some great fishing recently.  It is not uncommon for our guides and other anglers to report back that nymphing, streamer fishing and some dry fly fishing are all producing fish some days.  The added bonus of the clear flows is that it is possible to sight fish to some big fish on the upper river.  Floating moss from just above the Henneberry Access and a recent thunderstorm that muddied Grasshopper Creek have made the fishing from that point downstream more challenging.

Big Hole River – Flows are stable on the Big Hole which is a significant change from previous years.  There are Hoot Owl closures on the extreme upper and lower end of the river, but the fishing from Melrose upstream to Wise River has been solid.
